We're one year on from 7/7 and, outwardly at least, London has more or less gotten back to normal. We still use the Tube and buses, shops and businesses are open as usual and there are few signs that we're letting fear run our lives. Yet for all the resilience shown in the face of last year's terror attacks - and London's remarkable capacity to resurrect itself after acts of violence and destruction - there's no doubt this coming Friday is going to be unsettling and upsetting for many of us. An official two-minute silence starts at noon and an open-air commemoration in Regent's Park will see the reading aloud of the names of the 52 people killed by the suicide bombers. We urge everyone to use that time to remember those who perished - and then get back into a normal routine as quickly as possible. That surely is the most appropriate response to those who would threaten our lives and our way of life.
